trend-report: playful baubles

Yazbukey brooches and necklace
Double dose─ when it comes to luck, its often expressed; three times a charm. Well in this report two times is delightful!. While doing some blog browsing, I scrolled upon a street style photo of a congenially chic women ─Michelle Harper─posing against a vehicle on two au courant blog sites, The Cut and StreetPeeper. But as customary, it wasn’t the probable. Most would ponder that I was obsessing over her mode approach, when contrarily this eye of the beholder found herself fastened at the picturesque necklace adorning Mrs. Harper’s neckline; while shadowing her peek-a-boo see-through mesh top. Fortuitously; photographer Phil Oh of StreetPeeper disclosed the designer(s) of the animated bauble─ Yazbukeywhich put an au fait smile across my face.  The dynamic duo are sisters; Yaz and Emel of ‘Mehmet Ali Pasha, King of Egypt’. Presently dwelling in Paris; the decorative dual are constructing an assortment of whimsically quirky pieces.

Ambitious girl─within a year; with drive & dreams, your entire world can evolve, fashion designer/blogger Moneysha Walker- Moneyontherockks designs, is the epitome of revolutionary. I can recall the first time I met Ms. Walker , it was in 2008 through the former cyber hot-spot─ myspace.com, her profile photo at the time was a (self -designed) denim frock that hinted all things flirtatiously chic. We briefly chatted via inbox establishing a defined understanding of each other’s present aspirations. Threading forward─ in 2009 after viewing MW designs, Walker and I collaborated for an interview following the launching of beenalabella.com, it was my first feature designer ─April 2009 behind the seams: moneyontherockks. Poshly present─ Walker has clicked her 7 inch heels in a manifold of smart foundations, (grab a pen & pad aspiring fashion designers, time to take notes).

themagazine(ok) features beenalabella.com

beenalabella.com had the honor of being featured in the October 2010 issue of the monthly art/fashion webzine─ themagazine(ok), pg80-81; belle of the ball: blogger beenalabella breaks it down. It was an absolute pleasure being interviewed by the Editor in Chief/Creator of themagazine(ok)─Faith Bowman. I formerly met Faith at the Chictopia10 media tech summit in September 2010; when she snapped a photo of me during the event, her candid directorial is what inveigled me. She didn’t want the generic picture-ready guise, she opted for an effortless yet organic stance. I would like to thank the magazine(ok) once again for the amazing feature.
